solarbird: (widow)

Holy crap, have I really not been posting updates here? But I compose them here! Before I post them to Tumblr! What the fuck?

But I don't see them on my journal, so... I guess not?! Here's one of a few short-version updates to get them online here!

The Arc of Conflict, Fragment s13,2: What [Must] We [Must] Do
Since the Tsars, power has flowed from Moscow, and Russians have obeyed. But now, as Moscow demands that the Vishkar developments and all influences of the “Gods” be purged, more and more question - Why?

This is another backpost of Of Gods and Monsters updates I apparently didn't post here? I honestly don't know how this happened, so... yeah!

The Arc of Conflict, Edda 15: Negotiations and Ascensions
It doesn't necessarily take a goddess to realise what the gods might be doing. It might just take proximity to the Changed - and to have been changed, even a little, yourself.

This begins the second movement of the Arc of Conflict.

It also denotes a behind-the-scenes change.

Due to circumstances entirely outside her control, bzarcher's non-fandom life has become rather complicated. Don't worry, she's not sick, it's nothing like that, but she will be very busy for the foreseeable future. And this means she is officially taking a hiatus from Of Gods and Monsters.

Because a fair lot of what is to come has been written - or at least roughed in - out of order, her name will continue to appear regularly on new instalments, but she won't be doing any additional work on the story during her hiatus. (I don't think she's even had time to read the second half of this instalment, for example.) So if you see that some instalments in future are credited only to Solarbird, that is why. For now, Of Gods and Monsters is a solo project.

I think that if people wanted to wish her the best of luck in her current situation, she would appreciate that very much. I haven't asked her about that - I'm just saying.

BEFORE YOU READ THIS, READ THE OTHER TWO UPDATES JUST POSTED - apparently I haven't been posting updates here! What the hell, me?

Katya Volskaya's government in Russia has destroyed the omnium Koschei, and held their own against the Gods of Oasis. With no point to additional fighting, the overt war has paused. But covertly, the conflict carries on. The gods, after all, still have a plan, and will do what is needed - one way, or another.

Of Gods and Monsters: The Arc of Conflict
Fragment e15,1: The woman with a hint of gold in her eyes

solarbird and bzarcher

Zarya has continued her walkabout, and has made her way to Brazil, still trying to figure out who she is now, and what she needs to do about the conflict growing in her homeland. Along the way, she's finding the world is already a little changed - maybe more than anyone even realises.

Of Gods and Monsters: The Arc of Conflict is a continuance of The Arc of Ascension, The Arc of Creation, and The Armourer and the Living Weapon. It will be told in a series of eddas, sagas, interludes, fragments, texts, and cantos, all of which serve their individual purposes. To follow the story as it appears, please subscribe to the series.
